Spring into Style: Picking the perfect flat iron + Important Salon Update! 🌸✨

Hello Beautiful! 👋🏾

As we embrace the beauty of spring and all the fresh possibilities it brings, it's the perfect time to elevate your hair game to new heights! But first, an important update: Hair by LaShawn is moving to a new location at 800 Salem Woods Dr., Suite 103/203, Raleigh, NC 27615. All appointments will be operating out of the new salon beginning April 1, 2024.

Now, let's talk about the secret to achieving flawless hair with the perfect flat iron. When it comes to titanium vs. ceramic flat irons, both have their pros and cons.

Titanium Flat Irons

  • Heats up quickly
  • Maintains high temperatures
  • Best for high density and thicker hair textures.
  • Can cause heat damage without proper professional techniques.

Ceramic flat irons

  • Easily adjustable temperature settings
  • Even heat distribution across the plates.
  • Best for lower density and thinner hair textures.
  • Takes more time to heat up.

My personal recommendation leans towards a ceramic flat iron for consistently optimal styling results. No matter what flat iron you choose, don't forget to protect your hair from heat damage by using a heat protectant spray. There are all types of heat protectants on the market, but my favorite is the Blockade Heat Defense Serum.

Lastly, if you notice that your silk press needs some extra hydration as the weather gets warmer, you can try adding a light weight moisturizer to your routine. All you need is a pea-sized amount before wrapping or rodding your hair at night. My favorite is the Amika Supernova Moisture and Shine Cream.

Of course if you have any questions about anything, feel free to reach out and let me know! See you soon babe 🤍
